RaidEye is a tool for monitoring software RAID sets. When a RAID volume fails, RaidEye warns you with an alert sound and an alert email. RaidEye runs in background as a daemon. The graphic interface is used only to configure and monitor RaidEye status. A bash installer for headless servers is also available. RaidEye daemon is a C application, RaidEye frontends are cocoa/applescript and python applications.Why RaidEye? Because Mac OS X comes with an easy way to create RAID volumes (mirrored or striped), but has not a good way to control their integrity and to give feedbacks and alerts to system administrators.
